about

Woe is me et cetera. Self-care as a kind of cliche. But nonetheless it can work? I'm actually fine.

lyrics

Making things masks sickness, I will have to give this back
43 days for this 1-day attack

That’s the deal presented from before I had a choice
That’s the cost of having any voice

And when it comes I lean on systems that I put in place
An action plan to follow and the habits to replace

That’s the deal I made with you when you still had a voice
That’s the price of leaving me a choice

Could be worse my good days could be bad at least I make
A thing for you before the earth quakes

And when it does you lean on rails you wrapped around the place
And lifelines that you strung between the sharps that you replaced
With healthy ways to spend my time, with things that might restore
Dynamic equilibrium, before I’m out the door.

And on to bigger, better, more
Beyond what kept me here before
And on to higher, faster, new
My aim consistently post true

Hit the mark if only there were anything to say
Besides a recreation of the low day

And how it almost fucked up everything but then instead
I wound up getting resourced and well-read

In terms of how to think about the steps I need to take
To start to know the nature of the lists I always make

To organize the landscape and flatten all the peaks
Raise up every valley, plug the slow leaks

I’m an airtight capsule, I’ve depressurized this place
And filled the walls with mirrors from a safe space

That won’t reveal my face in ways with which you might agree
From being on the inside of what no one else can see
Walls can talk and tell you everything you need to know
Reflecting back how danger turns to boredom in the snow

And back to smaller, worse, and less
From games of chance to games of chess
And back to lower, slower, old
Just sleeping, keeping out the cold

Hide the mess the company is almost at the door
Ring the bell and get up off the floor.
